Mary May Obituary
Mary A. May graced this world for 93 beautiful years. She was born in Kentucky on March 20, 1932. Her family moved to Minnesota where she met and married Dennis Milan. While raising seven children, Mary embarked on a career in cosmetology where she worked for Dwayne's Hair Salon in Edina, MN. She moved to California in 1973 where she met and married Lynn "Doc" May. Her passion led her to become the sole owner of her own salon, Harbor Center Stylists in Costa Mesa, California. Even in her retirement, her entrepreneurial spirit thrived as she opened Designs in Time in Brandt, South Dakota, bringing beauty and joy to her community. Mary passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby, MN at the age of 93.
Mary leaves behind her seven children: Nancy Barnes, Steven M. Milan, John (Sue) Milan, Linda (Jack) Sullens, Daniel Milan, Kathy Rogers and Thomas (Tina) Milan; 15 grandchildren: 37 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Dennis John Milan and Lynn "Doc" May, parents, sisters Lola and Midge, and brother Fred.
