Mary K. McBarron

Mary Katherine (Guschwan) McBarron, 75, of North Huntingdon Township, passed away peacefully on Tues., Sept. 24, 2024, at Redstone Highlands in North Huntingdon, PA. She was born on June 5, 1949 in Parma, OH, to the late Andrew and Anne (Olejnyik) Guschwan. Mary was a rare soul, both analytical and emotional, equally at home with art and math. In addition to teaching both, she was a dedicated CPA and skilled watercolor artist. She earned many accolades as an auditor for the Department of Defense. She loved puzzles, stuffed animals, the ocean and giving gifts. Most of all, she loved her family, friends and God, with whom she nurtured deep, joyful relationships. Mary is survived by her loving son, Brian (Lori) McBarron of Harrison City, PA; granddaughters, Lauren, Stephanie and Megan; brother, George (Anne) Guschwan; and sister, Betty (Joe) Pitstick. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Andy (Barb) Guschwan, Anne Marie (Len) Gehring, Frances (Len) Simecek, Jean (Dick) Patterson and Susan (Roy) Van Keuren. Friends will be received Fri., Sept. 27, 2024, from 2-4 p.m., and 6:30-8:30 p.m., at LINDSAY-JOBE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3343 Route 130, P.O. Box 465, Harrison City. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Sat., Sept. 28, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Barbara Catholic Church, Harrison City, PA, with Father Michael P. Sikon officiating.
