Mary T McGee, 82 most recently a resident of Venice FL, previously a resident of The Villages for 25 years until 2024, passed away peacefully, at home, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. She died after a multi-year battle with Ovarian Cancer. Her children and several grandchildren by her side. There will be a private viewing for immediate family only at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, Wedgewood Lane in the Villages, followed by funeral services to be held at 10AM, Monday, February 2, 2026, at St Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, Summerfield, FL. All are welcome to attend the funeral services.

She was born on December 23, 1943, in Cumberland, RI, to the late Arman Lamothe and Lillian (Henault) Jacques.

Mary spent much of her life in Woonsocket, RI, where she built deep roots in the community. A talented and dedicated hair stylist, she owned and operated her own business, Ultimate Hair Styles, through which she touched the lives of countless clients not only with her skill, but with her kindness, warmth, and genuine care for others. Many who sat in her chair became friends.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, James E. McGee, who passed away on January 26, 2022. Mary and James were married on August 1, 1964, and shared a loving marriage filled with travel, family, and cherished memories. Together, they enjoyed visiting their children and grandchildren and exploring new places side by side.

Mary is survived by her two children, Susan McGee of Venice, FL, and Michael McGee (Anthony Jover) of Virginia Beach, VA. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom were a tremendous source of pride and joy in her life. She is also survived by her two brothers, Arthur Lamothe and Donald Lamothe.

Mary's greatest joys were spending time with her family and friends and staying busy with the many creative pursuits she loved. She had a remarkable artistic eye and enjoyed cutting, polishing, and wire-wrapping stones to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind jewelry. She also found pleasure in cross-stitching, reading, playing cards, and Mahjong, always appreciating time spent laughing and connecting with others.

Mary was a special person who touched the lives of many through her work, her friendships, and the relationships she nurtured over the years. She will be remembered for her creativity, her strong work ethic, her love for her family, and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
