Memorial Mass for Mary Kathleen McGougan, 88, of Kerrville, who passed away Friday, November 24, 2023, in a local hospital, will be held at 10 AM, Monday, December 11, 2023, at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father David Wagner as celebrant. Rosary will precede the Mass at 9:30 AM, officiated by Deacon Sonny Kaufhold.
Graveside services will be held at 2 PM, Monday, December 11, 2023 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, officiated by Deacon Jimmy Bill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catholic Charities, https://www.ccaosa.org/.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.

I first met Mary (I called her Kay) at the Elks club in Kerrville, TX. She was dancing her heart out on the dance floor and gave me a few little tips on ho to two step. She was a talker, but I loved hearing her stories from the older days and about how hard she worked on the family farm. She was a tough cookie and there wasn't anything she couldn't/wouldn't attempt to do. She was a hard worker, an artist, a singer, a furniture builder, an author, a teacher, a fashion statement, a wonderful friend with a big heart, but most of all, she was a loyal follower of Christ and led her life to her true Christian faith. She will remain in my heart and soul as the red haired warrior and I can hardly wait to see her dancing in her white robe in heaven. RIP dear friend, you will be greatly missed.
