It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Jane McWilliams, born on December 12, 1936, to Alice and Edward Stein.
Mary Jane was a spiritual beacon whose faith and love guided her family through every season of life. She was a devoted mother to five children, a proud grandmother to eight, and a joyful great-grandmother to four.
Educated and inspired by the Sisters of the Holy Family, Mary Jane embraced the values of faith, family, and service-principles she practiced every day of her life.
A dedicated and patriotic military wife, she also cherished her many roles as sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her life was a tapestry woven with devotion-to her family, her community, her country, and her church. As a civic activist, garden club member, bridge player, and faithful servant of God, she approached every responsibility with dignity and grace.
Those who knew her best affectionately called her "Saint Mary" and "Take Charge Mary"-nicknames that reflected her selfless nature and strong spirit. Ever faithful, she kept a very long prayer list-so long that the family's favorite laugh line was, "Once you got on her prayer list, you never got off."
Her faith was steadfast, her love unwavering, and her example enduring. Mary Jane will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and the world will truly feel her loss.
May her legacy of faith, service, and compassion continue to inspire us all.
