Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home - HuntersvilleSandra Rae Carlson, 77, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away on November 2, 2025.
Sandra, known lovingly as Sandy, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 17, 1948 to the late Cecil and Marie Bayne. She graduated from Ramapo College in 1985 with a bachelor’s in accounting and went on to have a successful career as a payroll and tax professional.
Sandy was an avid college football fan with her favorite team being Ole Miss, where her oldest grandson went to school. She loved spending time with friends and family playing cards – laughing and sharing stories as each game progressed. Sandy was an excellent cook and she loved making delicious food for everyone who entered her home, often in portions “big enough to feed an army.” She loved the beach. She was passionate about her family, particularly her great-grandchildren who truly adored her. She loved her family and took so much pride in them.
Sandy is survived by her loved ones. Beloved mother of Troy Carlson, Rusty Carlson and wife Susan Carlson, and Kristine Carlson. Devoted grandmother of Gavin Carlson, Hailey Carlson, and Jonathon Carlson. Cherished great-grandmother of Mary Brooks Carlson, Thomas Raglin, and Mikayla Raglin. Dear sister to Sharon Spear, Jimmy Bayne and wife Lisa Bayne, Bobby Bayne and wife Donna Bayne, Marilee Gilder, Skip Bayne, and Scott Bayne and wife Susan Bayne.
A memorial service will be held at 10AM on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC. Friends and family are welcome to join and celebrate her life.
Flowers can be sent to Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. Her favorite color was yellow.
