Christopher Eric Ashworth, 65, of Cornelius, NC passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 6, 2025.
Chris was born in Charleston, WV on April 1,1960 to the late Vernie and Mary Zell Ashworth.
Chris worked 19 years in the packaging industry, retiring from Fed Ex Ground in Charlotte, NC. Chis loved athletics and the outdoors. He played football at West Virginia Tech and loved watching his beloved West Virginia Mountaineers, South Carolina Gamecocks and of course the Carolina Panthers each fall. Chris loved fishing on Lake Norman and Lake Murray with his best buddy (lab) Luke by his side.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Sally Jacobs Ashworth, sisters, Jana Zell Tolliver and Sandy Kay McNealy, niece Christa Jan Kenney and great nephew Robert Ashworth Kenney.
A “Celebration of his Life” will be planned after the holidays.
