Mary Alice Miller age 86, of Osgood, passed away peacefully. She was born on March 5, 1939, in Beattyville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Arch and Norena (Couch) Moore.
Mary’s life took a beautiful turn when, by chance, she met Rondal "Gray" Miller in Middletown, Ohio, while visiting their sisters. This fateful meeting would shape the rest of their lives. They were united in marriage on March 8, 1960, in Middletown, Ohio. After marriage, they eventually moved back to the Osgood community, where they were blessed with two daughters, Mary and Ruth. They shared nearly 50 years of marriage before Gray's passing in 2009.
Mary had a passion for gardening, especially growing flowers. She loved being a mother, and her favorite title was always "Mom." She worked for over ten years at Ida Rice’s Restaurant, more than five years at the Dairy Barn, several years at the U.S. Shoe Factory, and eventually retired from J&J Packaging in Sunman at the age of 65. True to her Kentucky roots, she was a proud and loyal supporter of the University of Kentucky Wildcats.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary (Larry) Eckstein and Ruth Miller. . She is survived by her sister Cleta Palmer of Franklin, Ohio, and brothers Archie Lee Moore of Beattyville, Kentucky, and Willis Moore of Beattyville, Kentucky.
Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Dillard Moore and Ronnie Dale Moore of Beattyville, Kentucky; Bert Moore and Tyler Moore of Osgood; and her sisters, Alta Quicksall of Osgood, Brenda Gail Stamper of Beattyville, Kentucky, and Geneva Stamper of Franklin, Ohio.
