Mary C. Mitchell

Mary C. Mitchell age 81 formerly of Garrettsville passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday Jan. 6, 2026 at the Kensington Care Center in Aurora, OH. She was born on Sept. 13, 1944 in Somerset, PA the daughter of the late Floyd Earl Dove and Margaret (Gowns) Dove. Mary lived in Garrettsville for over 38 years, formerly of Conneaut Lake, PA and Somerset, PA. She graduated from Somerset High School in the Class of 1962. After high school, she married the love of her life, Robert Wayne Mitchell on Sept. 9, 1962 and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage together until his death on Oct. 26, 2022. Mary worked at Geauga Industries in Middlefield, OH as a Press Operator for 18 years until the plant closed in 2007. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, watching football (especially the Philadelphia Eagles), watching the Cleveland Indians baseball games, and babysitting the grandkids & great grandkids. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Robert Mitchell, 1 daughter: Becky Mitchell, 2 brothers: William & Glenn Dove, and 2 sisters: Sally Stahl and Donna Nace.
She is survived by: 1 daughter: Margaret Savitts (Billy Beggs) of Warren, 1 son: Shawn & Lorrie Mitchell of Streetsboro, OH, 1 sister: Marian Thomas of Somerset, PA, 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no services. The family has requested that all donations please be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children Attn: Office of Development 2900 North Rocky Point Drive Tampa, FL 33607 in her memory.
