Mary Christine Moon
December 18, 1959 – February 11, 2026
Mary Christine Moon, age 66, of Bowling Green, KY, passed away on February 8, 2026. Born on December 18, 1959, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the beloved daughter of the late Mary Brock and Tommy Carter, Sr.
A Life of Service and Joy
Mary dedicated much of her life to food service, a career that was far more than just a job to her. She truly enjoyed her work because it provided a daily opportunity to connect with her community and care for others in her own special, warm-hearted way.
Outside of work, Mary embraced the simple pleasures of life. She was a familiar and fortunate face at the bingo hall—where she was known to win often—and she always enjoyed trying her luck with the lottery. Above all, Mary cherished the time spent with her friends and her church community. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found great peace and fellowship within her church.
Family
Mary was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Earnest O. Moon, Jr., whom she married on May 4, 2002.
Her legacy of love lives on through her family:
Children: Her son, Derrick Carter, and his wife, April.
Grandchildren: Jullian, Isaiah, Kyrin, Savanna, and Maddy.
Great-Grandchildren: Two cherished great-grandchildren.
Siblings: Her brother, Tommy Carter, and his wife, Patricia.
Extended Family: Eight nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mary will be remembered for her warm spirit, her infectious laughter, and the genuine way she made everyone around her feel valued and cared for. She leaves behind a wealth of memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.
