Mary Moorman Obituary
Mary Jane Creasey Moorman, 77, of Thaxton went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 15, 2024, a daughter of the late Clovis Ashby Creasey and Willie Jane Hawkins Creasey. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband Donald Neal Moorman and a grandchild, Anthony Abee.
Mary, a lifelong resident of Bedford County, was born on May 25, 1947. She was a member of Faith Life Baptist Church; she demonstrated a profound strength in her faith that inspired those around her. Mary had a deep love for the outdoors, often spending her time engaging in yardwork and gardening, which brought her immense joy. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Mary was a devoted mother to her three children and their spouses, Mike and Sherrie Moorman of Bedford: Jeff Moorman of Stokesdale, North Carolina, and Angela and Jerry Ashby of Thaxton.
She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Robert Moorman, Chelsey and Ruben Cruz del Cid, Chais and Madison Moorman, J.J. Ashby, and Brookelyn Ashby; great grandchildren, Delaney Moorman, Ty Moorman, Evan, Elisa Cruz del Cid, Reigna Cruz del Cid, Ellie Moorman, J.J. Ashby, and Brookelyn Ashby; along with numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service and celebration of Mary’s life will be conducted on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
