HONEYVILLE – Mary Chiyoko Nagao, 81, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 in her home surrounded by her family. Mary was born February 18, 1928, to Arata and Toki Takata Mayeda in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Mary married Koji Nagao on March 30, 1950. Together they resided in Honeyville. Mary was an active member of the Honeyville Buddhist Church and participated in the Fujinkai. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, homemaking, and reading. Mary loved her children and grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, Koji, children: Dennis (Linda) Nagao, Golden, CO; Steven (Wendy) Nagao, Centerville, UT; Robert (Cheryl) Nagao. Richland, WA; Pamela Nagao, West Bountiful, UT; two grandchildren: Kristen and Madison and one great-grandchild Sage; plus six step-grandchildren and their spouses and 22 step-great-grandchildren. Also siblings: Yukino Itaya, Idaho Falls, ID; Jeanne Nagaki, Ontario, OR; Takashi Mayeda, Las Vegas, NV; Utaka Mayeda, Rainer, OR; Satoshi Mayeda, San Francisco, CA. Preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Isamu Mayeda, and Joe Mayeda. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Honeyville Buddhist Church, 3945 West 6900 North, Honeyville, UT. Friends may call on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT. Interment will be in the Honeyville Cemetery. Special thanks to Intermountain Homecare Hospice, with special thanks to Carol and Sean and Dr. Lynn Beard.
