Mary Ann Nelipowitz, 87, died peacefully at Saint Peter's Hospice on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. She was born in Syracuse, NY on May 5, 1937. The daughter of the late Frank Nelipowitz and Annabelle (Alt). Mary Ann was raised in the Syracuse area, later moving to the capital district. She was a 1956 graduate of Central Square High School in Central Square, NY. Mary Ann was employed by several companies throughout her career and especially loved being a legal typist for the Troy Record Newspaper where she retired.
Mary Ann loved to read, decorate elaborately for every holiday, and play board games with her family and friends. A "crafty" lady, she was also a talented artist in whatever she chose to do. Whether hand crafting miniatures for her dollhouses, skillfully cutting out wood pieces for ornaments, sewing, quilting, or using her decorative painting skills to create incredible works of art, she was a perfectionist in all that she did. Many family and friends have received her beautiful creations over the years which she hopes will be passed down and enjoyed for generations to come.
She is the beloved mother of Donna Lee Nelipowitz and son-in-law Richard Kopcho. Adored "Nene" of her "bug" grandson Connor Kopcho, whom she loved and cherished. Dear sister of the late Harriet and Henry Crouse. Aunt to Carol Freunscht, Kevin Crouse and the late Richard Crouse, and great aunt to several nieces and nephews.
A "Celebration of Life" for Mary Ann will be held on May 17, 2025 at 1 o'clock in the afternoon at 20 Helenwood Lane, Averill Park, NY 12018.
