Mary Ann Omerzo, 86, of Cortland, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Hospice House in Poland, Ohio.
She was born on January 20,1939, in Acosta, Pa., and was the daughter of Michael and Mary Grzybek Fotta.
Mary Ann was a member of the Queen of Holy Rosary Church in Vienna. She volunteered in the kitchen for all the food and bake sales. She retired from Packard Electric. She took pride in her award-winning garden and yard, where she spent many joyful hours watching her flowers grow. As an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, she enjoyed cheering on her teams. Sundays were for dinner with her family and watching the games.
Mary Ann was well known for her connections with her customers at the Country Fair in Howland working beside her daughter, Michaelene. Everyone who patronized the store knew and loved her.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Michaelene (Butch) Omerzo of Cortland, Ohio, son Robert Omerzo of Cortland, Ohio, sisters, Michaelene (Tony) Kozola, Angie (Terry) Griffith, Phyllis (Mario) Mendez, a brother, Michael Fotta, two grandchildren, Nicole (Anna) Brown, BreAnn (Tim) Melago, and three great-grandchildren, Paisley, Marlee and Luke and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert M. Omerzo, whom she married on June 10, 1961 and who passed November 11, 2010; brother Frank; sisters, Joan and Alice.
On Thursday, October 30th between 4-6PM, family and friends may call at Holloway-Williams Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 611 Robbins Ave., Niles, Ohio.
On Friday, October 31st at 10:00AM, a Mass of Christian burial will be at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, 291 Scoville Dr., Vienna, Ohio. The Rev. Father John Fongemie will officiate. If planning on attending the Mass, please go directly to Queen of the Holy Rosary Church.
