Mary Pancost Obituary

Mary Ellen Pancost, of Boulder, CO, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 21, at the age of 83. Mary Ellen was born in Boulder, CO on September 4, 1939 to Domenic Orlando and Katherine M. (Baker) Sabatini. She attended Boulder High School and graduated in 1957. She married her husband of 62 years, Edward Leo Pancost on November 8, 1958. Mary Ellen valued her family above all else. She raised her four children in a home she and Ed built. She was the rock of the whole Pancost family. Mary Ellen was most known for her sense of style, homemade cooking, and gambling. Her family will always cherish the many memories made traveling to Disney World, Las Vegas and other fun trips. Her art work will always remain special to those in Mary Ellen's life. She was artistically skilled in ceramics, and had a special knack for making altered art for all of her family. In her later years, Ed and Mary Ellen enjoyed weekly trips to "work" in Central City. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Ed, her sister Katherine Sabatini, her brother Joseph Sabatini. She is survived by her brother Bill Sabatini, four children; Mary Kay Keeter (Ben) of Boulder, Vicky Brinkman (Jim) of Colorado Springs, Scott Pancost (Karen) of Boulder, and Natalie Aanerud of Erie. In addition by 8 grandchildren; Scooter Keeter (Lindsey), Domenic Love (Hunter), Edward Pancost, Billy Boone, Tori Boone, Kathryn Pancost, Austin Aanerud, and Cecilia Aanerud, and 3 great-grandchildren; Quentin and Lawson Keeter, and Mary Michael Love. The Pancost family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the wonderful caretakers Bertina Gonzalez, Julia Berry, Eloisa Heyward, Geraldine Albornoz and the hospice staff. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association and Tru Hospice Care.

I was so very sorry to hear of Mary Ellen´s passing right before Christmas. When Grandma passed away the day after Christmas I was told by Shirley Lippincott that God chose her then, during the holiest time of the year, and how magical that was. May you some day be able to see this through that lens when the holidays roll around every year. Prayers of comfort to all.
