Mary Parish Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ripley Funeral and Cremation Services - Ripley on Dec. 9, 2025.
Mary Sue Parish, age 81, departed this earthly world and entered into the promises of her dear Savior on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Tippah County Hospital, surrounded by the love and presence of her family and friends.

Funeral services honoring her life will be at 11 AM Wednesday, December 10, 2025, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home, with visitation from 10 AM until time of service. Bro. Kenneth Harrison will officiate, and burial will follow in New Prospect Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with no graveside service.

Born on April 22, 1944, in Ripley, Mississippi, Mrs. Sue was the cherished daughter of the late Troy and Mary F. Stewart McCluskey. She began school at Buena Vista before transferring to Ripley High School. She later married her beloved husband, Mr. W. J. Parish, who preceded her in death. For more than thirty years, she devoted her time and talents to Prentiss Manufacturing in the sewing department, where she was known for her dedication, strong work ethic, and the friendships she formed along the way.

A Christian woman with a gentle heart and a deep appreciation for life's simple joys, Mrs. Sue found beauty in the everyday moments. After her husband's passing, she shared companionship and heartfelt friendship with Mr. Wayne Hollis, and together they enjoyed the simple blessings of being outdoors, fishing, sharing meals, and spending time with the people they loved most. Whether she was gathered at her sister and brother-in-law's home cheering on her favorite baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals, cooking a meal from scratch, or doting on her great-nieces and nephews-the ones she lovingly claimed as her own-Mrs. Sue always made sure those around her felt valued, welcomed, and cherished.

Though her outgoing spirit, warm smile, and caring nature will be missed beyond measure, her legacy of love remains firmly rooted in the hearts of those who knew her best. We find peace and comfort in knowing that she is healed, whole, and resting in the everlasting promises of her Savior, reunited with those she loved and awaiting the glorious day when all will be together again.

Those left to cherish her memory include one brother, James McCluskey (Cindy), one sister, Donnie Boren (Mitchell), one niece, Melissa Chapman (Brian), and three nieces and nephews, Klancie, Wick, and Emsley Chapman, along with a wide circle of friends and family.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Sue was also preceded in death by her former companion, Mr. Wayne Hollis.
