Mary Pecore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Klein & Stangel Funeral Home - Two Rivers on Mar. 21, 2025.
Marie "Mary" Johanna Pecore passed away March 19, 2025 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay. Born April 20, 1935 to John and Marie (VanderWeilen) VanNuland, eldest of 7 children, she grew up in Kimberly, WI. Graduated in 1953 from Kimberly High School, where she was voted Homecoming Queen. Following high school she worked as a secretary at Kimberly Clark.
Not long after getting married she settled in Two Rivers and remained there most of her adult life, where she became a wonderful loving mother to her 5 children. While raising her family she volunteered for Scouts, supported her kids in their school and athletic activities, was an active member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church and found time to fit in monthly Bridge games. While being a busy Mother she took on the front end manager role at Wolfe Snyder Drug, the family business.
Mary was an excellent Bridge player; after retiring she joined 13 Bridge clubs. During those years it was not uncommon to get called upon to be a Bridge sub when other clubs were lacking a player. Mary loved family time, which included board and card games. She was willing to challenge any family member that wanted to play. Much enjoyment was had playing Sheepshead, she kept her coin purse stocked with pennies and nickels, ready for the next game. Her grandchildren enjoyed countless wonderful meals and baked goods which Mary so lovingly prepared. The annual VanNuland family reunions were a favorite, she also enjoyed watching and talking about anything Packers or Badgers.
Pre-deceased by parents John and Marie VanNuland, son Brad Pecore, daughter-in-law Emily Pecore, sister-in-law Eileen VanNuland, brothers in law Clay Pecore, Lon Pecore.
Survived by daughter Katie (Jeff) Willoughby, sons Rick (Michelle) Pecore, Craig (Felicia) Pecore, Drew Pecore, 11 grandchildren: Eden (fiancé PJ Feichtmeier), Katelyn (special friend Colin Nowicki), Adam Willoughby, Evan (Nicole) Pecore, Ellie (Noah) Meissner, Willow, Grace, Faith and Joy Pecore, Nikki and Jaden O'Day. Great-grandsons Wesley and Walker Pecore. Sisters Janet (Vern) Griesbach, Margie (Steve VanThiel), brothers Harry (Sally) VanNuland, John (friend Darlene Paalman) VanNuland, Steve (Missy) VanNuland, Ed VanNuland. To the Pecore family, I extend my condolences to you as she was a very loving and compassionate person. I worked at the drug store both downtown and on the eastside. May the fond memories you have of her give you comfort.
