Paul Muench Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pfeffer Funeral Home & All Care Cremation Center - Manitowoc on Mar. 10, 2026.
Paul N. Muench, age 78 of Manitowoc, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Paul was born on September 17, 1947, in Manitowoc, a son of the late Walter and Dorothy (Petska) Muench. On April 4, 1970 Paul married the former Nancy G. Walsh. She preceded him in death on June 28, 2018. He had been employed with Kohler, operated Golden Hills Prime Veal, and owned and operated Pack'er Inn, with his wife for many years. Paul was an avid snowmobiler and a member of Newton Sno-Sports and Cleveland Snow Hawks. He had volunteered with the snowmobile clubs and his church. He loved to play cards with his family and friends and beating his grandchildren in games of Monopoly. Paul loved his snowmobile friends, his high school classmates, and his best friend, Barb. He spent his last years at LakeHouse in Manitowoc and his last months at New Day. We are grateful for all of the kind hearts who cared for him and his wonderful MD, Dr. Sherman, who helped guide us through his diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease.

Paul is survived by three children: Lynn (Brian) Klem, Brenda (David) Sunby, and Keith (Rachel Webb) Muench; four grandchildren: Abby and Connor Klem and Izzy and Lillie Sunby; four brothers and two sisters-in-law: Robert (Sondra) Muench, Tom (Kathy) Muench, Steve Muench, Todd Muench (Joanna Barta); five sisters and three brothers-in-law: Barb (Leroy) Krepline, Sandy Muench, Debbie (Bill) Nate, Joan Nickels, Cathy (Bryan) Weber; two sisters-in-law: Jean Walsh and Eileen Leschke; and several special cousins. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Dorothy Muench; his wife: Nancy Muench; one brother: Denny Muench; two brothers-in-law: Jerry Walsh and Larry Walsh; one sister-in-law: Louette Erickson; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Thomas and Lucille Walsh.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, 8100 Brunner Road, Newton. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. David Beaudry. A private burial will take place at a later date at St. Isidore's Catholic Cemetery, Osman.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, Newton, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A parish prayer service will conclude the visitation at 8:00 p.m. The visitation will continue on Friday, March 13, 2026 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, Newton, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m.
