Mary Pellegrinelli Obituary

Mary (Kampouris) Pellegrinelli, 92 of Dalton, MA died on Wednesday November 29, 2023 at her home.

She was born in Gary, IN on September 21, 1931, a daughter of Nicholas E. and Irene (Saroucou) Kampouris who both emigrated from Greece. At 17, Mary graduated valedictorian from Emerson High School in Gary and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in music and piano from Indiana University, where she met Guy A. Pellegrinelli, Jr., who she married on October 10, 1953. They were lovingly married for 58 years.

Mary was primarily a homemaker and devoted to her family, but she had a few part-time jobs over the years including legal secretary for her husband, selling Vanda Beauty Products and income tax preparation. Mary participated in many civic and social organizations, especially the Sons of Italy ITAM Lodge. She was an avid tennis player, competing in several Senior Olympic games. She also enjoyed playing bocce. Mary and Guy were "snowbird" retirees spending their winters in Clearwater Beach and The Villages, FL.

Mary was a communicant of St. Agnes Church in Dalton and a former longtime communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Pittsfield where she was a member of its Ladies Guild.

Mary is survived by two sons, Mark (Carroll) Pellegrinelli of Peachtree City, GA and Peter (Ginny) Pellegrinelli of Jacksonville Beach, FL and one daughter, Susan (Matthew) Morrison of Dalton, MA. She also leaves three grandchildren, Calli Morrison of Dalton, MA; Cole Morrison of Boston, MA and Loretta Bowman of Vidalia, GA; and three great-grandchildren, Mason and new-born twins, Charlotte and Evelyn. She was predeceased by older brother Louis Kampouris of St. Louis, MO and younger brother George Kampouris of Atlanta, GA.

Mary was such positive presence in my life as I attended Mt Carmel with the boys and Sue. The Pellegrinelli´s and the Sacco´s had such wonderful times together as our parents were such close friends and Mary and my mom kept us kids on the right path. She was truly a remarkable person and will always be in my thoughts. God bless to you and your family

Oh this is heartbreaking::((. So sorry Suzy, Peter and Mark.
You all know how much this Berkshire Brewer loves you all.::))
I have told hundreds of people about the amazing Mary Pellegrinelli and how she taught me how to eat dandelion salad.
Over the years we would have the best talks. I could see her smile as she described you all.
From the first night we movedinto 459 Fenn, I knew we would have a wonderful summer in every way.
Of course it was jump started by Papa P showing us his pacemaker and letting us know he wanted to see some good baseball::))
Just like Mary, you all have such a special place in my heart.
Thoughts and prayers to you all.
Thank you Mary for all you gave to everyone and the love you shared so wonderfully. You will be sorely missed. Give Guy a hug for me.
