Mary Ply Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Nelson-Berna Funeral Home & Crematory of Rogers on May 12, 2025.
Mary Grace Ply, 73, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025, in Fayetteville, AR. She was born in Sparta, Wisconsin to Ruth (Lombard) and the late Willard Greene and grew up in LaFarge, WI where she enjoyed small town living, cultivated a lifelong love and talent for music, and built the foundations of her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.
She married Lloyd Hohn at 18, and for the next twenty years, they shared a ministry with the Assemblies of God Church, and together had six children, who would become her greatest pride and joy. In 1995, she married the love of her life, Jimmy, and spent the next thirty years exploring the US together in an 18-wheeler, building their own slice of heaven in the Ozarks, and doting on their beloved pet dachshunds.
Her life was defined by a generosity of spirit and a love that knew no bounds. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone at a moment's notice, and even in her final months as her health declined, she continued to give of herself to her children and her church. She loved to cook but loved to cook for others even more. She was a gifted artist and artisan, and her eyes would light up with excitement in showing others her latest quilt or painting, or having them try one of her signature recipes.
She is preceded in death by her father, Willard Greene. She is survived by her mother, Ruth Greene, her husband Jimmy Ply, her sisters Sandra Kamara, Audrey (Larry) Anderson, and her brother Mark (Terry) Greene, her six children Jeremy (Heather) Hohn, Justin (Karen) Hohn, Jerrod (Aretha) Hohn, Jana (Rick) Hancock, Jason Hohn, Jennifer Livesay, her grandchildren Natalie (Jerry) Giles, Rachael Hohn, Luke Hohn, Abigail Hohn, Ethan Hohn, Jaxon Hohn, Karli Jackson, Maxwell Jackson, Evie Jackson, Collin Brown, her two great-grandchildren Liberty and Levi Giles, and her beloved dachshunds Holly and Punkin.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 11am at Calvary Church - Bentonville.
Flowers are greatly appreciated. Alternatively, donations may be made in her honor to the Glioblastoma Foundation (www.glioblastomafoundation.org) or to the Dachshund Rescue of North America (www.drna.org).
