It is with great sadness and love that we announce the passing of Barbara, age 79, of
Rogers, Arkansas, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
Born on July 20, 1946, Barbara lived a life shaped by quiet strength, deep convictions, and a thoughtful appreciation for beauty. She was a woman who knew who she was and stood firmly in that knowledge. Those who loved her came to understand her steady nature as part of what made her unique.
Barbara spent several years in Japan as a young child. She grew up in California where she became a member of the Walther League, the official youth organization of the Lutheran Church, at St. James Lutheran Church in Imperial Beach, California. She attended Concordia College, Nebraska and then went on to earn a certification in beauty school.
When her children were young Barbara worked as a hairdresser for several years. Even after leaving the profession, she continued to cut and style the hair of family members throughout her life. She had an eye for detail and an understanding of beauty that extended beyond appearances.
Barbara found joy in tending her flower garden, creating crafts, and spending time in her kitchen. She was an excellent cook, known for preparing meals that brought family together and made home feel comforting and complete. In quieter moments she loved watching old movies and reading stories from another time, and always had time to work on word puzzles.
A devoted Christian, Barbara loved singing in her church choir, lifting her voice in worship. Her faith was a steady presence in her life, and she trusted in the promises of God.
Barbara is survived by her children: Robert Brown Jr. (Julie), Christine Booz (Spencer), and Deborah Brown.
As her children, we honor her life and carry forward the pieces of her that live on in us.
She is also survived by:
Her grandchildren:
Brigitte, Daniel, and Hannah, children of Robert and Julie
Sarah, Katelynn, and Robert, children of Christine
Christopher, Andrew, Isaac, and Justice, children of Deborah
Her sisters: Sandra Peach and Kathleen Dohr and many nieces and nephews
Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanette Dunn; father, Fred Parker; sister Rebecca Parker; brother, Jim Parker; sister, Janet Tisdale; nephew, Jim Arrington; and niece, Karyn Arrington.
A graveside service will be held at Greenleaf Cemetery in Brownwood, Texas, on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Pastor Curt Schneider officiating.
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
- Romans 8:38–39
She now rests in God's care, held forever in perfect peace.
