Mary Pool

Mary Alta Pool (nee Rainwater), 87, of Fairfield, California passed away on August 1, 2025, after a long illness. Born March 24, 1938, in Choctaw, Arkansas. Mary was the beloved daughter of James Earl and Julia Pearl Rainwater and was the older sister to Earlene Rainwater Mckee. After the family moved to Vacaville, she attended Vacaville Union High School and Solano Community College. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Kingsbury in Vallejo for several years. She also worked as a private duty nurse, and while living in Reno, Nevada, she worked for Circus Circus. Mary was a very kind, loving, and generous person. She always wanted to help others and do so much for so many. She loved to listen to music (especially Fats Domino) and she loved to shop. In 1953, she married Johney Leon Pool, and was widowed in 1960. She was also preceded in death by her parents, James Earl and Julia Pearl Rainwater. She is survived by her two children: Terry Lynn Pool of Fairfield and Johney Michael Pool of Stockton; five grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; one sister, Earlene McKee (Mayo); and three nieces: Adina Schwerdtfeger, Monique McKee, and Michon Linehan.
