Mary Porath, 72, of Escanaba, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, March 25, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Hospital.
She was born on April 28, 1952 in Escanaba, daughter to Henry and Dollras (Santy) Everson. Mary was raised in Escanaba and graduated from Escanaba High School.
On December 4, 1971, the former Mary Everson married William Junior Porath at St. Thomas Church in Escanaba. They shared 50 years of marriage and had two children, Andrew and Amanda "Amy".
Mary worked as an office manager for Farm Bureau Insurance for several years before becoming a real estate agent for Pine Tree Realty. During her retirement years, she enjoyed working at the Island Resort and Casino doing maintenance.
In her younger years, Mary owned and enjoyed riding horses. Mary and Bill always enjoyed going to Brewer and Buck games and snowmobiling with their family. Over the years, Mary had several collections including Beanie Babies and Webkinz, to just name a couple. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and being able to spoil them was one of her favorite things to do.
She was a member of Salem Lutheran Evangelical Church.
Among survivors include her two children, Amanda "Amy" (Angelo Sherville) Porath of Escanaba and Andrew "Andy" (Jackie) Porath of Gladstone; grandchildren, Cody (Cassie) Porath, Lucas (Maranda) Luedtke, Kyle Porath, and Hailey Luedtke; great grandchildren, Ezmae and Josiah McCleese, Avery and Maverick Porath, and Aria Luedtke; sister, Michelle Nail; brother, Joseph (Tracy) Everson; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Bill; she was preceded in death by her brother, Scott Everson.
Private services will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
