Edward D. Porath, age 82, passed away on Wednesday October 15, 2025 at Eden Meadows after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born on July 31, 1943 in Neenah, a son of Herbert and Ella Behm Porath. On July 10, 1965, he married the love of his life, Charlene Brauer, in Appleton.

Ed was a driver for UPS for 25 years. He was an avid fisherman and was known as “Mr. Walleye” and proudly displayed that on his personalized license plate. He spent his other free time playing cribbage and other card games, cooking (best salsa around), bowling, golfing, pontooning on Lake Poygan and Lake Metonga, hunting, and gardening. His quick wit and kind heart made him a friend to all he came in contact with.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Char, his son Scott (Kathi), his daughter Kris (Brian) Stedl, three grandchildren Jenna (Fiancee Jose Reyna), Hannah, Alan, one sister Dolores Hartzheim, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepfather Elmer Walbruck, one sister Doris (Paul) Marksman, brother-in-law Howie Hartzheim, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jack (Dorothy) Brauer.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday October 24, 2025 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside(100 Lake Pointe Dr.) from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

A memorial has been established.

The family extends its sincere gratitude to the compassionate team at Moments Hospice and Eden Meadows for their wonderful care during Ed’s final days.
