Mary Jean Pyles, 68, of Carthage, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the FirstHealth Hospice House in West End, with her loving family by her side.

She loved working with wild burros, line dancing to country music, beautiful flowers, Hallmark movies, and Taco Tuesdays with her girlfriends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her children, Sarah (Steven) Barker and Cody Pyles of Carthage; brothers, Vinny (Patti) Imperia of Tempe, AZ, and Tony (Dee) Imperia of Humbolt, AZ; nieces and nephews, and granddaughter, Riley Barker of Carthage.

A private memorial service will be held by the family at New Covenant Fellowship Church on February 1, 2026, at 6 p.m.

Mary came into my life the day she walked in for her Glaucoma appointment! I knew right then we were going to be friends. Her cheerful demeanor. She was a light to me and everyone that knew her! She killed bugs at the office for me, she had the funnest stories. Especially the one, that she couldn't find her teeth. Oh they were on the dash of her truck. Oh Lord, (front retainer)...
My second career, I'm a cosmetologist. Well before I knew it I was cutting or fixing Mary's hair. Her bangs. She was so hilarious . She would come in and with short crooked bangs.
I just loved her! She always would bring me little gifts and even went out of her way to decorate my office for my BD. It was only me and the D
r.
When and met my Husband Rob who was a quadriplegic, she and him just hit it off. We enjoyed beers and stories.
I'm
I say this with my whole heart, GOD brought me only earth angels in my life, and she definitely was one.
I'm sure her and Rob have their work cut out now, too take watch over all of us. She was an amazing beautiful friend! And I was honored to have her in my life the shorts years that I did. She's so free, just like my Rob!!

Rest in peace, Mary. Thank you for welcoming me to the BLM 20 years ago and being both a friend and a mentor. I´m thankful I had the pleasure of knowing you and will cherish the times we spent together.

Heaven just gained the best Angel ever! Mary was our earthly Angel, brightening everyone´s lives who she touched throughout her life. She was a loyal and generous friend, so full of vitality, and a dedicated employee for the BLM´s Wild Horse & Burro program. She had a passion for country dancing, live music, the outdoors, costume dressing for all occasions and party coordinating! She is missed by so many but her legacy will live on through her beautiful daughter Sarah and son Cody! RIP Mary and Happy Trails until we meet again! A part of my heart has passed along with you my dear bestie.
