Mrs. Mary Faye Coalson Ramey, age 81, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born on December 4, 1943 in Surry County to the late Edgar Coalson and the late Osie Lillian Atkins Coalson. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Anthony “Tony” Ramey (Marie Taylor Ramey); grandchildren, Anna Cooper (Josh), Meagan Calhoun (Tim); great-grandchildren, Allison, Alaina, and John Cooper; Coy and Annie Calhoun; sister, Teresa Crouse; brothers, Jay Coalson (Frances), Dale Coalson as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Mrs. Ramey was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest “Jimmy” Ramey; sisters, Jo Ann Bryant, Vickie Brooks, and Donna Laster, brother, Edward Coalson. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with service conducted by Pastor Bill Perkins and Rev. Tony Holder. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time for the service at the funeral home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Mrs. Ramey online to St. Jude’s’s Children’s Hospital or to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.
