Mary Ann (Rasmussen) Wahl, 96, of Des Moines, Iowa, died Friday, November 28, 2025. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
Mary Ann was born on December 2, 1928, in Des Moines, the daughter of Elmer and Veronica (McCoy) Rasmussen. She graduated from St. Joseph High School and later attended St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and Creighton University. Mary Ann married Harold Wahl on June 13, 1933, in Des Moines. She worked as a nurse at Mercy Hospital for 35 years, serving in both the Nursery and Oncology Center. She was a member of St. Mary of Nazareth Catholic Church.
Survivors include her children, Jim Wahl, Tom (Kathy Dice) Wahl, Bill Wahl, and Bob Wahl; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Veronica Rasmussen; husband, Harold Wahl; children, Madona Velez, Joan Wahl, John Wahl, and Dan Wahl; and siblings, Fr. James Rasmussen, Richard Rasmussen, John Rasmussen, and Virginia Barton.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial fund that has been established in her honor.
