Mary J. Reidl, age 93, of Dover, died Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in Ohio’s Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late Joseph and Marjorie (Shroyer) Crone, Mary was born on December 10, 1931 at Massillon, Ohio.

Mary was a 1949 graduate of Mineral City High School. On March 17, 1951 she married Louis Reidl, and together they enjoyed 61 years of marriage before his passing in July of 2012. Together they worked for many years in the family business Reidl’s Garage. In retirement, Mary and Louis spent over 20 years living in Florida.

Farm life was a passion for Mary. She loved her farm animals and spending time in the garden. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and doing word searches. She was also very generous with her time and talents. She did volunteer work for the Kiwanis and with a Thrift Store when she lived in Florida.

Mary is survived by her son, Richard (Lynn) Reidl of Summerville, South Carolina; daughters, LuAnn (Steve) Limbacher of Dover, Susan Reidl of West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Gena (Thad) Gerber of Strasburg; grandchildren, Tony Mast, Trevor (Taryn) Mast, Marcy (Chuck) Whitfield, Rosey (Beau) Smith, Justin (Hillary) Reidl, Tyler (Shelby) Gerber, Miranda (Lyden) Foust, and Lindsay (Phil) Eisner; 13 great-grandchildren, and one on the way; brothers, Mike (Phyllis) Crone, and Joseph (Sue) Crone; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, brother, William Crone; and sisters, Dorothy Abel, Florence Harding, Helen Naus, Ruth Price, Pauline Souers, Margie Carnahan, and Rita Cropper.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes a private graveside service will be held at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens.

The family would like to thank The Inn of Northwood, Park Village and Ohio’s Hospice for their excellent care that they provided to Mary. Instead of floral contributions, the family requests memorial donations in Mary’s honor may be made to Ohio’s Hospice Truman House, 716 Commercial Ave. SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663, Lehigh Acres Kiwanis Thrift Store, 15 Homestead Rd. S, Lehigh Acres, FL 33936 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
