Mary Sue Roberts, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away on July 26, 2024 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was born on June 11, 1940, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Charles Barton Golay and Minnie Mae Brown Golay. She attended school at Orlando Oklahoma until the 10th grade when she transferred to Ponca City High School and remained there until graduating.
Mary led a fulfilling life dedicated to caring for others through her work at Perry Green Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation. Her kind and loving nature shone bright as she served as a caregiver and food supervisor, touching the lives of many with her compassion and warmth.
In her free time, Mary enjoyed completing puzzles and cherished moments spent with her children and grandchildren. Family meant everything to her, and she was known for the love she poured into each moment spent with her loved ones.
Mary's memory will be forever cherished by her surviving family: son Sidney Kothe; his wife Susan; son Jerry Kothe; his wife Myrna; son Jeff Roberts; his wife Kaelyn; grandchildren Mikel Hayes and his wife Carolyn, Lindsey Braley and her husband Andrew, Laci Sadler and her husband Matt, Karly Kothe and her wife Sidney, Beverly Roberts, Jase Roberts; great-grandchildren Sydni St Clair, Andilyn Braley, Aceson Braley, Lincoln Sadler, Cora Sadler, Lane Hayes, and Dylan Hayes. Her sister of the heart Sharon Harmon also mourns her passing along with a host of nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Barton Golay and Minnie Mae Brown Golay; husband Sidney Kothe, husband Clyde Roberts; daughter Debra Roberts, siblings Bob and Dorothy Golay, Joe Golay, James Golay, Charles B. Golay Jr., Roberta Backus, Irvin Golay; and Buster Golay.
A visitation will be held on Thursday August 1st from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry. Family will be present to receive guests on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
A Celebration of Life service will take place on Friday August 2nd at First Christian Church in Perry from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Dr. Joshua Bell will officiate.
Mary Sue Roberts will be remembered for the love she shared so generously with those around her. Her legacy of kindness and warmth will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace knowing she was deeply loved by many.
