Mary Jane "Janie" Rosentreter-Cottingham, 87 of Carlinville, IL, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Litchfield Health and Rehab Center in Litchfield, IL.

Janie was born July 28, 1937, in Atwater, IL, a daughter of William Herbert and Pearl Alfretta (Bacon) Crouch. Janie attended Carlinville schools. She married Jack Rosentreter on July 4, 1954. They have two daughters together but they later divorced. Janie married Bobby G. Cottingham on August 19, 1989. He preceded her in death.

Janie had been owner of the Wagon Wheel on the Shipman Blacktop from 1977-1985, then became a cook at the Macoupin County Jail from 1985-2000. She went to Illinois Valley Home Health Care from 2000-2003. Janie was a member of the Memorial Christian Church in Carlinville, IL. She loved sewing and raising her flowers.

Mary Jane "Janie" was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bobby G. Cottingham, and all of her siblings; Harold Crouch, Dorothy Steward, Stanley Crouch, Marguerite Engellmann, Helen Clevenger, Charles Crouch, Frances Stults, Wilma Modlin, and Millard Crouch.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, 9 - 11 am at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, 260 Woodlawn Dr., Carlinville, IL.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, IL, with Reverend Jerry Rosentreter presiding.

Burial will take place in Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Carlinville, IL.

Janie is survived by her daughter; Shelly (Kevin) Waskow of Carlinville, IL, daughter; Sandra (Dennis) Stewart of Butler, IL, grandchildren; Jay (Brooke) Stewart, Marty (Megan) Stewart, Aaron Waskow, Amy (Jason) Smith, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, the Alzheimer's Association, or Plainview Baptist Church.

Davis-Anderson Funeral Home Carlinville is in charge of arrangements.
