Mary Rucker Obituary
Mary Rucker, 89, Kingsport, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026. Mary had a wonderful personality and sense of humor along with a strong work ethic. She was loyal to her family and friends. Mary sang with the Gospelettes and loved her God above all. She was an incredible baker known for her cakes that she always gave away. Mary was a devoted member at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Morristown, TN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Rucker; son, Carroll Treece; brothers, Howard Cheatham, Charles Cheatham, Frank Cheatham, James Cheatham, and Earl Cheatham; and sisters, Margaret Bell and Annie Lamb; and best friend, Nevirda Goins Crump.
Mary is survived by her son, Stanford Treece (Mary); special grandson, Michael Knight (Debbie) and grandchildren, Stanford Treece Jr. (Virginia), Tanyelle Bellamy (Barry), Samona Allen (Robert), Clifford Miller (Val), Chris Treece (Casey), Quincy Jones, and Melissa Jones; daughter-in-Law, Sheila Treece; step-daughters, Linda Rucker and Connie Rucker; sister-in-law, Bonnie Cheatham; special nephew, Claude Cheatham; dear friend, Nancy Jones; and several other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 pm on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Rev. James Goins and Elder Ventrus Norfolk will officiate the service.
