Died: January 22, 2025 in Peru, IL
Mary "Mitzi" (Barbic) Rudzinski, 106, of Oglesby, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Allure of Peru.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Holy Family Church, Oglesby with Rev. Paul Carlson, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Valentine's Cemetery, Spring Valley. Visitation will be held 10-10:50 AM Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Prey-Mueller Funeral Home, Oglesby.
Mrs. Rudzinski was born on October 17, 1918 in Oglesby to Joseph and Mary (Siolz) Barbic. She married John Rudzinski on April 19, 1958 at St. Roch's Church in LaSalle. Together, they had one son, Roger. John passed away on January 27, 2000 and Roger passed away on February 18, 2009.
Mrs. Rudzinski worked at Westclox in Peru for 23 years. She was a member of Holy Family Church, Oglesby and a lifetime member of the Slovenian National Benefit Society. She loved to dance, bowl, and golf.
Survivors include one sister, Angeline Torchia of Peru and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son; her brothers, Frank, Joseph, Louis, and John Barbic; and two sisters, Theresa Barbic and Anna Maas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Horizon House, Holy Family School, or Dickinson House.
