Mary Rusk Obituary
A funeral service for Mary Alice Rusk, age 86, will be held at Christ The King Catholic Church in Simmesport, Louisiana. Rosary starting at 10:30am, followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023, with Father Paul Kunnumpuram officiating. A graveside service will follow at Christ The King Catholic Cemetery.
Mrs. Mary passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, surrounded by her family. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent her spare time painting and had a passion for the opera. Above all else, she deeply cherished her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, as well as her pet Pekingese.
Mrs. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Boudreaux and Anna Collier LeBlanc, and husband, John (JD) Rusk.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, David Rusk (Robin) of Geismar and Michael Joseph Rusk (Christine) of Baton Rouge; daughter, Brenda Rusk Dauzat (Dennis) of Simmesport; sister, Betty Ann Nolan of New Roads; grandchildren, Michelle Moreau of Tickfaw, Nicholas Dauzat of Denham Springs, Sarah LaPorte (Matthew) of Geismar, Elaina Rusk of Baton Rouge, Jessica Rusk of Austin Texas, Michael A. Rusk of Baton Rouge, great-grandchildren; Hubert Moreau of Tallahassee Florida, Tyler Dauzat of Denham Springs, Chloe Dauzat of Denham Springs, and Emmett, Nathan, and Henry LaPorte of Geismar, and great-great grandchildren; Holly and Gabriel Moreau of Tallahassee Florida.
Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville have been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
