Mary T. Ruth

Haverhill – Mary T. (FitzGerald) Ruth, 79, of Haverhill, passed away on February 8, 2026 at Lawrence General Hospital.

Mary was born in Haverhill on January 7, 1947 to William P. and Evelyn R. (Tracey) FitzGerald. She was a Graduate of both St. James Grammar School and of St. James High School, Class of 1964. She then went on to study at Salem Hospital School of Nursing earning certificate as an RN in 1967. She also received her BS Degree from Southern New Hampshire University. Mary was employed for many years at the Hogan Center at Danvers State Hospital for disabled children and later worked as a Case Manager for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts.

Mary will be fondly remembered for her great sense of humor. She enjoyed getting together with her college friends and shared fond memories with her "Powderhouse Gals". A woman of strong faith, she was a lifelong member of St. James Parish.

A loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, she is survived by her granddaughter Margaret M. "Maggie" Kloster, and her grandson Brady G. Kloster, both of Methuen, her nephews; William P. FitzGerald, III of Dover, NH and Kevin FitzGerald of Atkinson, NH. She was predeceased by her children; daughter, Tracey M. (Ruth) Kloster and son; Shaun E. Ruth, and her brother William P. FitzGerald, Jr.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Monday, February 16th from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 17th at 10:00 AM at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish in St. James Church, 185 Winter Street, Haverhill.
