A proud graduate of Northampton County Public Schools, Mary completed her education in 1983. Mary's profound relationship with her faith was evident in her daily life. The scriptures of the Bible were not just words to her but were a source of support and inspiration, guiding her through every chapter of her life with confidence and grace. Mary's life was rich with the simple pleasures-she found joy in the heartwarming conversations with family members, the laughter and stories of her grandchildren, and moments of quiet contemplation with her cherished Bible.
Known for her gracious spirit and kind heart, Mary fostered a haven of love and tenderness within the walls of her home. Her preference for the peace found in solitude was a testament to her thoughtful nature. Mary's children and grandchildren were the recipients of her endless affection, and her guidance was a gentle force, propelling them to-wards a life of kindness and understanding.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Ervin Satchell, Sr., her loving daughter Keisha Satchell, and her grandparents.
As the sun sets on the life of Mary Ellen Satchell, she leaves behind a legacy of love to be cherished by her son, De'Andre (Rozonda Savage) Satchell of Newport News, VA; four grand-children, Azoryona Haskins, Antwan Haskins, Jr., Dralen Satchell, and Dre'yah Satchell; two sisters, Betty Walker of Parksley, VA and Gloria (Calvin) Bailey of Painter, VA; brother, Ervin (Everlina) Satchell of Nassawadox, VA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mary's life was a testament to the beauty that comes from a life lived with quiet strength and heartfelt faith. It is with heavy hearts but grateful spirits that we bid farewell to Mary Ellen Satchell. Her memories of everlasting love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She is now in God's hands.
