Mary C. Scaglia, 84, died on March 30, 2026, at her home in Norwalk with her family by her side. Born in Forbes Road (Greensburg). PA, the daughter of the late John and Julia (Tepley) Dohey, she was also predeceased by two brothers John and Michael Dohey, and her beloved husband, John L. Scaglia, Jr.

She worked for Duke Laboratories, Brookside School and Shoprite over the span of her career. Register #11 at Shoprite has always held special memories for Mary and her customers alike. She enjoyed doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles, craft projects with her husband, and playing parcheesi. She loved spending time with her dog Bailey, the warm embrace of her daughter Lisa, and enjoying morning coffee with her son John.

She is survived by her son, John L. (Asseneth) Scaglia III, daughter Lisa Marie Scaglia (Brien Stefanko) and grandchildren: Kyle Stefanko and Katherine, and two sisters Julianne LaPlaca and Theresa Muenzen and several nieces and nephews.

Her family would like to acknowledge all friends and family for their support as well as the team at Absolute Best Home Care, RVNA Hospice, Dr Sung and special care by Dr. Varadarajan.

Her family will receive friends on Monday April 6th from 4 – 7 PM, at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, April 7th, at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.
