Mary Schlueter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Woodhead Funeral Home - Falmouth on May 20, 2025.
Mary Lou Schlueter, 88, of Pendleton County passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on May 19, 2025. Born April 9, 1937, to Roy and Anna Laura Reed in Bracken County, Mary Lou grew up alongside her beloved sister, Dorothy (Elmer) Roseberry, and brothers, Bobby (Alta) Reed and Billy (Barbara) Reed. She graduated with the Bracken County High School Class of 1955 and soon after married the love of her life, Earl Winston Schlueter. Together they shared 42 devoted years of marriage until his passing in 1998.
A tireless farm wife, Mary Lou spent her life working the family land while filling their home with the aromas of her celebrated cooking. Her faith was the cornerstone of her days; she was a lifelong member of Cemetery Chapel Christian Church, where her gentle spirit and ready smile welcomed all.
Mary Lou and Winston raised three children in their home in Caddo-Kenny (Karen) Schlueter, Vickie Teegarden and Karen (Allen) Wolfe-and they also raised three granddaughters: April (Paul) Vater, Amber (Scott) Spangler and Caitlin Bolog. She will also be missed by son and daughter in law, Allen and Ronita Wolfe, great-granddaughters, Abbie and Annie, a host of nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, grandchildren and her faithful canine companion, who rarely left her side.
Known throughout the community as a generous soul, devoted Christian, and remarkable cook, Mary Lou's legacy is one of kindness, service and steadfast love. Her absence leaves an ache in many hearts, but her example of faith and compassion endures.
A celebration of Mary Lou's life will be held at a later date. Her family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Hope: 909 Kenton Station Rd, Maysville, Kentucky, 41056, whose gentle care blessed Mary Lou and her family.
"Her children rise up and call her blessed." - Proverbs 31:28
