MARY C. SMELTZ, Age 95. Mary was born on December 18, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Esther and Raymond Smeltz and the youngest child of seven. During her lifetime she resided in five different states. She married Clifford Snyder, a Border Patrolman, and is the mother of Kathy, Jeffrey (Jonathon Yassanye), and Julie (Mike Trainer, deceased). Mary became an LPN at age 42, and later a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Ohio. She married Rev. John H. Evans in 1976 and was step-mother to John Jr. (Susan), Gwen, deceased (Bob Shirley), Sue Halliwell, and Mark (Patsy). She was a loving grandmother of 9; great-grandmother of 13 and great-great-grandmother of two. Mary worked with Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity for 24 years. Passed away March 10, 2025. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 28th at 11:30 at Sunset Memorial Park, 6265 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070. A gathering for family and friends will be held at 12:30 at Burntwood Tavern, 5600 Great Northern Blvd., North Olmsted, OH 44070, following the memorial with light hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. Family suggests memorial contributions to Habitat for Humanity, 2110 W. 110th St., Cleveland, OH 44102
