Mary Ann Bowen Smith age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday morning, December 21, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, MS. Mary Ann was born in Webster County, MS on February 21, 1936 to Roy Cecil Bowen and Betty Grace Sealy Bowen. She was a graduate of Eupora High School and was elected Homecoming Queen two times. Mary Ann was a life-long member of LaGrange Methodist Church in Choctaw County and a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, taking rides sightseeing and being the matriarch of the family. Mary Ann is survived by her six children, Charlie (Jan) Smith, Eupora, MS, Jim (Judy) Smith, Eupora, MS, Bruce (Jennifer) Smith, Eupora, MS, Phillip (Latisha) Smith, Ackerman, MS, Betty Ann (Jim) Crimm, Eupora, MS and Janet Turman, West Point, MS; twenty grandchildren, Charla Boatman, Julia (Trey) Woods, Josh (Lauren) Smith, Carlee (Coy) Peterson, Bradley (Kaylin) Smith, Hayden Smith, Ann Carter Smith, Sealy (Jeremy Glasner) Smith, Beau (Aubry) Smith, Jack Gibson Smith, Wesley (Chloe) Crimm, Jinna Crimm, Walker Crimm, Stella Turman, Taylor (Ashton) Turman, Dash Turman, Halle Stevenson, Maddie Stevenson, Sabrina Graham and Timothy (Miranda) Graham; eighteen great grandchildren, Tripp and Eliza Boatman, Jacey, William and Shaw Woods, Langston, Walter, Marla Grace and Brister Smith, Jacks Peterson, Raegan and Riley Smith, Wyatt Smith, Magnolia Rose Crimm, Justin and Jonathan Suarez, Willie and Walker Graham; one sister, Patsy Sexton; one brother, Roy Glenn "Buddy" Bowen; three sister-in-laws, Gail (Robert) McInnis, Reva and Helen Bowen and host of nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Frank Appleby. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Smith; both her parents, Roy Cecil and Betty Grace Sealy Bowen and five brothers, Cecil, Robert, John, Billy Joe, Charles Michael "Dinky" Bowen. Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Ann Bowen Smith will be held at 2:00PM Monday, December 23, 2024, at LaGrange Methodist Church in Choctaw County, MS. The family will receive friends for a time of Visitation from 12Noon until time for services at 2:00PM Monday, December 23, 2024, at LaGrange Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the LaGrange Cemetery at the Church. Rev. Charlie Simmons will officiate. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Smith's grandsons and great grandsons.
