Mary gained her angel wings and entered her heavenly home on December 23rd, 2024. Mary was born in Camden, SC in Kershaw County, receiving her high school diploma in 1963.
Mary lived a life of ups and downs but what a comedian and actress she was. She enjoyed traveling, eating and any western that came on TV. She also loved her family and friends very much.
Predeceased by her only son, Erik K. Smith; her parents, Ernest and Mary Ola Belle Hunter; as well as her brother, Wayne. Surviving are her daughter, Tonya T. Dinkins of Gilbert, SC; siblings, Murdick, Ruby, Danny and Debbie; her grandchildren, Cody Ray Smith, Zachary Dinkins; and her beautiful great granddaughter, Maddie Dinkins.
Mary was loved and will most certainly be missed.
A memorial service for Mary will be held on Saturday, December 28th, 2024 from 4PM-6PM at Thompson Funeral Home on Augusta Road in Lexington, SC.

She was my neighbor, for many years our family and her family became really good friends throughout the years in fact her son the late Eric became like a brother to my husband and a best friend to me and now her grandson Cody we have grown very faund of my husband and I they all became more than friends we became family over the years Mary was always so nice I know she is so happy to be with her son again they got to celebrate Christmas together in heaven you will be missed by many love from the Cruz family
