Mrs. Mary Kathryn Smith of Swifton, Arkansas, departed this life on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the age of 94. She was born January 17, 1931, in Ash Flat, Arkansas, the daughter of George and Josie (Shelton) Haskett.

Mrs. Smith worked for the Frolic Footwear shoe factory for 28 years, retiring in 1990. She was extremely outgoing and loved social events. The ultimate hostess, Mrs. Smith, delighted in holding parties and gatherings at her home. She also loved going to dances, listening to live music, and playing canasta with her friends. Mrs. Smith was an avid reader, who also enjoyed creating beautiful quilts and embroidering exquisite items for her family and friends.

A devoted lifetime member of the Swifton Church of Christ, she taught Sunday school classes and coordinated and helped prepare meals for church functions and community events.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Luther "Junior" Templeton; her second husband, Marvin Eugene Smith; her daughter, Margaret King; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Templeton; her brother and sister-in-law, Don and Erma Haskett; and her parents.

Mrs. Smith is survived by two sons, Robert Templeton of Swifton, and David Templeton and wife, Terri of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Adam King and wife, Tabitha, Brian Templeton and wife, Lisa, Nick Templeton and wife, Chandra, and Kristen Thielemier; six great-grandchildren, Tate, Olivia, Caden, Chase, Kasen, and Katelyn; one nephew, Donald L. Haskett; one niece, Terry Overbey; and a lifetime of friends.

Friends may visit at the Swifton Church of Christ on Saturday, September 27, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow visitation at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ with Mr. Jon Fears officiating.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Adam King, Brian Templeton, Nick Templeton, Caden Templeton, Chase Templeton, Kasen Hager, and Tate Thielemier.
