Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Smith, age 84, from Sandersville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 14,2025. Beth was the daughter of the late Oscar Leslie Rogers Jr., and the late Mary Lozier Irwin, both of Sandersville.

A funeral service to celebrate Beth’s life will be held on Friday, December 19th in the Chapel of May and Smith Funeral Directors. Her family will receive friends at 1:00 pm followed by the service at 2:00 pm, officiated by Elder Kenneth Brantley, and music by Danny Peterman, Beth’s nephew. A family committal service will follow in Brownwood Cemetery.

Beth graduated from Sandersville high school in 1958. She was a member of the marching band and played the saxophone. She was in the Beta club and also won a national award in bookkeeping.

Beth was married to her late husband Wendall Smith and was a devoted wife, a homemaker, and a loving mother to their late son Jeffery Wen Smith.

Beth loved life and laughing and was blessed with many close friends and family. She enjoyed wearing fashionable clothing, makeup and jewelry, and was always dressed to a T. She loved music and watching tv and movies. She enjoyed decorating her home and collecting and arranging beautiful decorative pieces and could tell you the story behind each one. Beth liked traveling and camping in their airstreams camper in Helen Georgia, and she always decorated the campsite table with seasonal decor.

Survived by her brother and sister in law, Dr. and Mrs. Oscar Leslie Rogers, III, cousins Russell and Faye Riner and family, sister in law Ann Smith, and cousin Bob Moore.

Special thanks to Russell Riner for all the support and love through the years, and her loyal friend Patty Frost for always being there for Beth, and Ms. Ann Smith, for all the love and support she showed Beth through the years.
