Mary Snipes Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harrington Funeral Home & Crematory - Hamlet on Jan. 21, 2026.
Lucille Wilkerson Snipes, 79, formerly of Rockingham, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Hinkle Hospice House, Lexington.

She was born February 22, 1946, in Richmond County, daughter of the late William John Wilkerson and Connell Crisco Wilkerson.

Lucille was known as a hard worker, spending more than 32 years with Sara Lee Hosiery and 20 years with The Spec Shop. She enjoyed working and forming relationships with coworkers as well as patients.

During her earlier years, Lucille enjoyed traveling, oftentimes to Atlanta while her daughter lived there, and also, with family and friends to the beach. She and her beloved husband enjoyed boating and fishing with friends at the river.

Of her many enjoyments in life, her greatest joy was her family, especially her husband, children, and grandchildren. Family was her top priority and she went above and beyond for all of them. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Along with her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Frank Snipes; her son, David Marshburn; and her brother, Thomas Wilkerson.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Cynthia Teglas of Thomasville; her grandchildren, Steve Teglas, III of Thomasville, and Emily Nguyen (Victor) and Jamie Marshburn, both of Rockingham; her great-grandchildren, Victor and Ella Nguyen, and Gage Teglas; and her brother, Randy Wilkerson (Debbie) of Badin Lake.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 11:00am-12:00pm at Harrington Funeral Home, Hamlet.

The funeral service will follow the visitation, beginning at 12:00pm, in the chapel of Harrington Funeral Home, with Rev. David Lee officiating. Burial will be held private.

The family wishes to thank Richmond County Hospice, especially nurses Amanda and Sybil, and also Hospice of Davidson County, for the kindness and care shown to Lucille.
