It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our mom and grandmother, Mary Ann Stafford. Mary Ann was born on April 10, 1930, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She passed away peacefully at her home in Prairieville, Louisiana on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 95 years old.
Mary Ann enjoyed numerous hobbies and interests over the years, from gardening, knitting, reading, enjoying music and theater, baking, playing Scrabble and cards, fishing, and boating, but nothing compared to spending time with her family, especially her husband, Harry. She and Harry were high-school sweethearts and were married at 17 years and 18 years old. They were married for 77 years and leave a beautiful legacy of 8 children, 19 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Her life was marked by love of her family, devotion to her faith, numerous friendships and love of nature.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry “” Stafford; children, Joe and Jesse Stafford; and grandchildren, Rachel Stafford Thomassee and Krissy Stafford Littrell.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, LA from 9:30 AM until memorial mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Serenity Oaks Memorial Park. A reception will be held at St. John The Evangelist Community Center following the burial. Mary Ann had several charities that were near to her heart, one of which was the food pantry at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the food pantry.
