Mary Stanton Obituary

Mary Virginia (Ginger) Stanton passed away on March 25th, 2022 at the age of 94. She was born in Hannibal, MO on December 2, 1927 and spent her childhood in Rockford, IL. Shortly after WWII she met the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Stanton, and became a model military wife and mother. Some of Ginger's favorite pastimes included: going on cruises around the world with her family, volunteering with Meals on Wheels & the Annapolis Visitors Center, enjoying lunch dates with her girlfriends, and knitting as many as 100 winter hats a year to donate. Her best life advice was to "always have a trip planned" - because it was something to look forward to. She was preceded in death by her son Jeffery, and is survived by her husband and remaining two children (James & Susan), daughter-in-law Tammie, and four beautiful grandchildren and one great grandchild. Ginger was an exemplary mother and quintessential grandmother & community member. She brightened all of our lives and will be sorely missed. Services for Ginger will be held at a future date.
