Mary Marcella Stuart, 78, of Saginaw, Texas, entered the presence of the Lord on March 9, 2026. Mary was born on June 24, 1947, in Wheeling, Illinois. She spent her childhood in Marshfield, Wisconsin, where she developed a love for horses. Mary graduated from Columbus Catholic High School in Marshfield in 1966. With a lifelong desire to serve others, Mary later graduated from nursing school in Mendota, Wisconsin. While working as a traveling nurse, Mary met the love of her life, James Lee Stuart, in Glendale, Arizona. Mary and James raised two children and were blessed with fifty-seven years of marriage.
Mary spent over thirty years working periodically as a nurse. She also worked as a teacher’s aide helping children with special needs in the Louisiana public school system. Mary was happiest at home; however, home had many faces over the years. Mary lived in at least nine different states across the Midwest, the West Coast, and primarily the South. She leaves behind many treasured friendships in each place she touched.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse Diers, and her brother, Alphonse Diers Jr. She leaves behind two sisters, LaMalle Winkler and Valeria Quirt.
Mary is survived by her husband, James Stuart of Saginaw, Texas; her daughter, Lisa Davis, and son-in-law John of Keller, Texas; her son, Shawn Stuart, and daughter-in-law Serena of Waxhaw, North Carolina. Mary was blessed with numerous grandchildren: Trenton Davis and wife Maegan, Phillip Davis and wife Maddie, Emily Stuart Langmeyer and husband Adam, Mason Davis and wife Amy, Katie Stuart Passons and husband Chandler, and Mary Ellen Stuart. Additionally, she is survived by five great-grandchildren and one on the way: Hudson and Anslie; Adalynn, Bexleigh, and baby Bowen; and Sophie.
In lieu of a final service, Mary’s wish was for her friends and family to remember her as she lived. She deeply cherished animals and would appreciate donations to the SPCA or your favorite animal rescue.
Let us remember the past with gratitude, live the present with enthusiasm, and look forward to the future with confidence.
Rest in peace, Mary.
