Mary Sue Woodring Obituary
Mary Sue Duvall Woodring, 82 of Sylva passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Harris Regional Hospital. Mary Sue was born on September 9, 1943 to the late Oliver & Nellie Johnson Duvall.
Mary Sue loved the Lord and going to church. She loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren. Mary Sue enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching movies. She attended Sylva Life Church of God. She worked 25 years in food service at Harris Regional Hospital. Mary Sue was a very kind hearted person to everyone she met.
She is survived by two daughters, Marina Rhinehart (Kenny); Pam Snyder (Randy); step-daughter, Julie Straight; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great-great grandson on the way; one daughter-in-law, Sherri Mathis.
In addition to her parents, Mary Sue is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Larry Woodring; son, Scott Mathis and step-son, Mickey Woodring. She was also preceded in death by 2 siblings.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Sylva Life Church of God. Rev. Tim Pressley will be officiating.
