Mary "Sugar" Orem Obituary
Mary "Sugar" E. Orem (LaPoint), 89, of Plattsburgh passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2026.
She was born in Plattsburgh on June 26, 1936 to Buster and Tish LaPoint.
Mary is predeceased by her parents Buster and Tish, and her siblings Leon and Penny.
She is survived by her children Bridget, Amy and John, her grandchildren Bianca (Mario) and Aaron (Jennifer), her great-grandchildren Estelle and Emilia, her brother Donny, and several nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Mary especially enjoyed her family, friends, good food, reading and watching her favorite TV shows. In her younger years, she loved to take long walks, travelling, and any occasion to get dressed up fancy.
Mary is remembered fondly by many from her neighborhood and community.
A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of Victory.
