Mary W. Tate, , age 77, of 2413 Beech Street, Gaffney, SC, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, in Spartanburg Medical Center.
She was born in Cleveland County, NC, and was a daughter of the late William and Nancy Manning Watkins.
Mary was a member and Deaconess of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Kelvin M. Tate; two brothers, Willie Dean Watkins and Joe Robert Watkins.
She leaves to cherish loving memories: her husband, Charles A. Tate, of the home; a daughter, Lanette Littlejohn (Kurt), of Gaffney; a grandson raised in the home, Rev. Malcolm Long (Porchie), of Gaffney; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, William Watkins, of Spartanburg, Manning Steve Watkins (Priscilla), of Kings Mountain, NC, sisters-in-law, Bernell Tate, Ruth Huskey, Sarah Tate, Mary M. Tate, Joan "Gail" Watkins, Shelia Ratchford (Warren); brother-in-law, Victor Tate; bonus children, Rev, Antoinette Frazier, Tara Montgomery, and Rev. Deion Logan; other relatives and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 11th, 3:00 p.m.., in Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with the pastor, The Reverend Darrell Smith and The Reverend Dr. Michael A. Bridges. Interment will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request all donations be made to Charles Tate
