Mary Therese Lentsch (née Newcome) passed away peacefully at home on November 16, 2025.
Preceded in death by parents, Richard and Virginia Newcome, and John’s identical twin, Frank.
Survived by husband, John, their children, John Francis, Ali (Brian), and Christina, and grandsons, Bryce, Blake and Landen; as well as many nephews, nieces, and friends.
Teri was the eldest of four - Victoria Johnson, RJ (Pam), and John (Margaret). Teri graduated from St. Mark’s grade school, Visitation high school, received a bachelor's in mathematics from St. Catherine's University, and a master's in education and an administration certification. Teri began her career as an educator at St. Bernard's and transferred to St. Paul Central High School, where she was a math teacher and then an assistant principal.
Teri touched countless lives with her unwavering passion for education. Her number one goal in life was to be a loving mother, not only to her own children and grandchildren but to countless other children. You could often find Teri enjoying her morning runs around Como Lake or swimming laps. Everyone envied her cursive writing. Two of her favorite pastimes were eating ice cream with hot fudge sauce and “sharing” her chocolate chip cookies with John. Teri leaves behind a legacy of love, learning, and generosity that will continue to resonate with the lives she has touched.
Memorial visitation 4:00 - 7:00 pm Tuesday, November 25 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home (Roseville), 2130 N. Dale St. at County Rd B.
Private interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
Donations accepted to the Central High School Foundation to be used for the Teri Lentsch Memorial Scholarship for Students.
